Congratulations on joining the YMCA of Niagara. The goals of the YMCA are to promote healthy lifestyles, develop youth, support families and strengthen our community. Our vision statement of "We Build Strong Kids, Strong Families and Strong Communities" reflects this.
Through our programs and services we strive to develop basic values of honesty, caring, respect responsibility, health and inclusion in all those we touch. It is our hope that through your relationship with the YMCA, you will have the opportunity to experience all aspects of our association.
Membership Card
When you purchase a YMCA membership, you receive a photo membership card. You must present this card each time you come to
the YMCA. If you forget your card, please go to the Membership Service Desk to receive a temporary card. If you can't find
your card, within a week, you will need to replace your photo membership card.
Building Access
Please present your card at the Member Services Desk every time you access any YMCA Branch.
Membership Renewal/Cancellation
Members who use our pre-authorized payment plan have a continuous membership. The YMCA requires ten business days written notice to cancel.
Member Etiquette
The YMCA is a shared experience for everyone to enjoy. YMCA members, volunteers and staff are expected to treat one another
with respect, fairness and dignity. As a member you are asked to respect YMCA policies and privileges to ensure a safe,
enjoyable experience for all.
Remember to bring your own lock
All lockers at the Y are for day use only, so please take your lock and belongings with you when you leave.
What to Wear
Comfort and safety are the key to choosing your clothing. As a minimum, the YMCA requires that you wear a t-shirt and tights,
shorts or sweat pants and running shoes.
Safety & Supervision of Children
To ensure the safety and security of children while at the YMCA, children under the age of 13 must either be attending a Y
program or be under the direct supervision of a parent or adult guardian. Children are not permitted in any branch Fitness
Centre or Gym / Multi-Use Room during a fitness class.
Babysitting
YMCA babysitting service allows YMCA parent members the opportunity to participate in programs with the assurance that their
children are being cared for in a safe and secure environment. Parents must stay in the branch.
