Enrichment Courses

Enrichment Courses offered at the YMCA refer to all instructional programs offered for a fee. These programs are open to both members and non-members, unless otherwise indicated, and are designed to enhance your lifestyle, acquire new skills and enrich your body, mind, and spirit.

Advanced Aquatics

The YMCA is dedicated to offering high quality enrichment courses to help individuals develop in spirit, mind and body. The exam date (where applicable) is the last day of the course unless otherwise stated. Prerequisites are to be presented on the first day of the course, must be of age by last day of course. All prerequisites listed as current must be current within 2 years of last day of the course. Participants must be of age by the last day of the course. Non-members are welcome unless otherwise stated.

The YMCA of Niagara offers a comprehensive selection of Advanced Aquatics programs including Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Instructors and NLS. Youth Enrichment

One-to-One Swim Lessons

The YMCA is dedicated to the growth and development of the whole child and recognizes that some children may require extra support based on the diversity of individual needs and abilities. If you feel your child would benefit from One-to-One Swim Lessons, please inquire at the Membership Desk for availability and pricing.

Adult Health & Fitness Enrichment

This course is offered for YMCA of Niagara members only. Participants can register either for Basic Theory and Individualized Conditioning or for Basic Theory, Group Fundamentals and a Group Specialty (Choreography, Resistance, Core, Cyclefit, Aquafit). Certification is provided after successful completion of Basic Fitness Theory and Applied Theory, and a minimum of 20 hours practical teaching with a certified YMCA instructor. Certification is valid for 2 years.

Course Fee: $110 + GST
Notes: Participants must be 16 years of age, YMCA members and have 100% attendance

Niagara Falls:
Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00am – 5:00pm
January 19/20, 26/27 and February 2/3, 2008

St. Catharines
Tuesdays, 6:00 – 10:00pm
February 19 – May 6, 2008 (no class March 11)
