Youth Action – Program Leader Volunteer Job Description

Purpose: To provide assistance in leading games and activities for children and youth participating in Youth Action recreational programs. Volunteers can help people grow in many ways that are consistent with the YMCA's mission of building body, mind and spirit.

Responsibilities: To provide assistance in leading recreational activities such as swimming, crafts and games (depending on program). To build relationships with participants. To be in YMCA dress code (volunteer t-shirt and black bottoms).

Qualifications: Previous experience an asset but not required. Training will be provided. Patient and caring attitude Current Criminal Reference Check 18 years of age or older

Training and support: Volunteer orientation Supervision and support from Coordinator/Team Leader
